CPS Energy sets budget of $150 million for new HQ

San Antonio’s city-owned utility company CPS Energy has set a guaranteed maximum price of $150 million to build its new headquarters.

CPS Energy’s board of trustees on Monday unanimously approved that amount to renovate the former AT&T Building off McCullough Avenue into the city-owned utility company’s new headquarters.

Out of the funds, general contractor Sundt Construction Inc. is capped at $145 million for the renovation project while CPS Energy CEO Paula Gold-Williamswill oversee a $5 million contingency fund to “address any future business needs.”
